In April Frasershot Photography were commissioned to shoot part one of an advertising campaign for one of the MOD's suppliers creating a realistic image depicting the camouflage outfits used in this sector covering a wide demographic. This kind of project is one which we are doing more and more of at present and will add to our existing portfolio of work in this genre. We started the commission by innitial meeting and storyboarding the ideas that will work, at this stage we bought in local illustrator Phil Garner to sketch the visual we had in mind onto paper, this then gave us a solid concept which was signed off by the client before starting the shoot, see below
We shot all the candidates in various poses using strong key lighting which would then merge nicely onto the stock image we bought for the background. Working from the visuals we shot the poses directly into Phocus software on the Hassselblad to ensure the models would work well on the backdrop, a fantastic feature of the Phocus software known as the Overlay Facility.
All the poses were shot on a white background to enable the cutting out by our retoucher Nic Greene who we work with for our specialised retouching jobs.
For this project we also bought in a fantastic emerging talent Aimee Garner in the makeup industry to apply a good makeup base and army effects to the faces.
The image attached is the final image without the copy and branding. Would love to hear your thoughts.
