Last year we produced the UK's team poster for the Bocuse d'Or and it was an absolute pleasure and honor to be asked to produce this years poster as well supporting the UK team heading out to Lyon for the finals. The Bocuse d’Or, recognized as the Oscars of the Culinary World, is a biennial culinary competition established in 1987 by one of the world’s greatest chefs, Paul Bocuse. Since then, the Bocuse d’Or, has added three regional heats - Bocuse d’Or Europe, Bocuse d’Or Asia and Bocuse d’Or Latin America.
The UK Bocuse d’Or, entry is managed by the Academy of Culinary Arts. On September 30th, following a four hour cook off, Adam Bennett was selected to represent the UK. He will compete for a place in the world final in Brussels on March 20th, 2012.
More support means better awareness, a bigger pool of future candidates and ultimately a better chance of Britain bringing home the Bocuse d’Or trophy. You can support this event at the following URL
The theme for this years event was a play on the Italian Job - We bought Adam Bennett of Simpsons Restaurant, Birmingham and Nick Vadis of Compass Group into the studio to shoot the main portraits which were shot on a plain backdrop in order to give the designers a good image which that could then be masked off for the graphics and Mini's to be dropped onto for the final result which you can see below.
Here at Frasershot we wish Adam, Nick and Kristian the very best in this amazing culinary competition.
